It has been a busy over night for Springfield Department of Public Works crews.
They have been working on a water main break on Bridge Street at Stearns Square.
Officials say as part of that repair work there was also at least one manhole cover explosion.
It appears that there were several, what have been termed as smaller explosions.
No one was hurt.
No word on when the repair work will be done.
Until then you are advised to avoid the area.
