Lawmakers Consider Ouster Of Judge

Sources tell the "Boston Globe" that  former Belchertown District Court chief justice Thomas Estes is expected  to resign on Friday.

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ordered  an indefinite suspension without pay for Estes on Thursday after he  admitted to having sex with a court worker in the court building.

If he  does not step down, only the Legislature and Governor Charlie Baker  have the power to force the judge to do so.

State Representative Kate  Campanale of Worcester has filed a resolution for the removal.

Neither Estes nor his attorney have commented.
