A 40 year old Springfield man is being held in lieu of a million dollars bail on charges that he held a woman hostage, beat and raped her. Police say that 40 year old Stewart Weldon’s home on Page Boulevard is at the same address that police were searching all night long. It is at that home where a suspected homicide investigation is going on. So far officials say Weldon has not been charged in connection with anything else except the alleged hostage taking.. Police aren’t saying anything else about the case.
