The Sears store in Springfield's Eastfield Mall is among the stores being closed by the company.
Sears announced this week that it will begin end-of-store sales for 72 more locations.
The mall's co-property manager says that the building's owner plans to buy the local Sears department store and auto center, plus its parking lot, and will proceed with a redevelopment plan.
There are no store closings slated in Connecticut however there is one other store in Massachusetts in Peabody,
