State Skin Cancer Rates Higher Than Normal

Diagnoses of skin cancers are higher  in Massachusetts than the national average and tied for sixth highest in  the country.  

Skin cancers are diagnosed at a rate of four-point-three  percent nationally, compared to five-percent in the Commonwealth.  

The  findings of the "Health of America" report from Blue Cross Blue Shield,  are based on medical claims data.
