A troubled Springfield lounge is closing. Mayor Domenic Sarno made the announcement on Thursday regarding Carregan's on Maple Street.
The lounge has faced accusations from the mayor of out-of-control management, a gunfight last month that left one person injured, and dozens of police calls.
The agreement calls for the lounge to surrender its liquor license until the business is sold or until ownership provides an approved operations plan.
The bar will remain closed until after a public safety program is approved or until the facility is sold.
