West Springfield Mayor Will Reichelt's veto on a ban of recreational marijuana businesses in the town is being overridden.
The vote from Town Council was 8-to-1 on Monday.
West Springfield was one of the municipalities to vote against legalizing recreational pot in 2016.
The proposed ordinance was for two dispensaries to be erected in the town's industrial zone.
Reichelt told reporters last night that city councilors could place a referendum on the ballot so voters can decide the issue.
Or citizens could go out and get signatures to force a question as well.
