Supporters: Time Is Now To Go Hands Free

Supporters of a hands-free bill are calling on the Massachusetts  House to vote on the issue before the legislative session ends on July  31st.

If passed, it would ban drivers from using hand-held cell  phones.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says  distracted driving, primarily due to cell phones, causes ten-percent of  deadly crashes.

More than a dozen states, including every New England  state except Massachusetts and Maine, have enacted hands-free laws.

The Bill has already passed the Senate and the Governor has already said he would sign it.  The bill though is currently in the House ways and Means Committee where the clock continues to tick.
