State Says "Good Bye" To Slain Officer


Funeral services are scheduled for  today for the Weymouth police officer shot and killed with his own gun  on Sunday.  

Calling hours were held yesterday for officer Michael  Chesna, who was promoted to sergeant after his death.  Around three  thousand police officers from all over attended Chesna's wake yesterday  at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart church in Hanover.  

Western Massachusetts police are paying tribute to the Weymouth officer who was shot and killed this past weekend.  

Springfield  Police Commissioner John Barbieri says he will  attend today's funeral for Sergeant Michael Chesna, and there will be  about 25 Springfield  police officers there, as well.  

Calling hours were held for Chesna on  Thursday, and about three-thousand officers from all over attended his  wake.
