Governor Wants Settlement To Go For New Busses

A plan is in place to use money from a  settlement reached from the Volkswagen emissions scandal to help the  Pioneer Valley Transit Authority.

Governor Charlie Baker's  administration issued a draft plan last week which proposes  eleven-million-dollars for the purchase of electric transit buses by the  PVTA and the transit authority on Martha's Vineyard.

Nationwide,  Volkwagen is paying out ten-billion dollars in settlement money for  installing devices on 500 thousand cars that allowed them to cheat on emissions tests.
