Deal Reached In Wilbraham Dispute

A compromise is being reached for a  school reorganization plan between the town of Hampden and the  Hampden-Wilbraham School District.

The Hampden Board of Selectmen  announced on Friday the plan will allow the transition of middle-school  students from the Thornton Burgess School to the new Minnechaug Regional  High School.

Hampden had sued to keep Wilbraham from closing the  Burgess School, which will continue to be used as an educational  facility but will transition to government functions starting in 2019.
