Mercy Medical Center is implementing new procedures after the recent death of a mother who gave birth.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health says the hospital was placed in a status of immediate jeopardy following the death, which was removed earlier this year.
Such a designation can result in a hospital losing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements.
Corrective measures included firing an obstetrician who was not named that demonstrated unprofessional behavior, according to a Boston Globe report.
