Chief: Now It Is Back To Doing What We Do

Shutesbury's fire chief is getting a  new contract, ending the threat of the entire fire department quitting.

A new three-year deal for William Tibbetts was announced on Tuesday,  after he said he would leave if he didn't get a salary increase.

Firefighters said they'd step down with their chief.

This comes a day  after the entire Blandford Police Department resigned.

In the end the Chief, who says he needed the increase because the job has morphed into more paperwork and recruiting, received a 10 thousand dollar increase and will make 65 thousand dollars a year.
