Mookie Betts homered in the ninth inning to complete the cycle for the Red Sox in defeat.
J.D. Martinez also homered for Boston, which had won 10 of its previous 11 games.
The Red Sox are eight games in front of the Yankees who beat the Texas Rangers last night.
