Betts For The Cycle But Red Sox Lose

Justin Smoak's RBI double snapped a 4-all tie in the fifth inning and the Blue Jays went on to beat the Red Sox  8-5 in Toronto.  

Randal Grichuk followed with a  two-run homer as the Jays snapped Boston's six-game winning streak.   Ryan Borucki got the win.  

Rick Porcello fell to  14-and-5 with the loss.  

Mookie Betts homered in the ninth inning to complete the cycle for the Red Sox in defeat.  

J.D. Martinez also homered for Boston, which had won 10 of its previous 11 games.

The Red Sox are eight games in front of the Yankees who beat the Texas Rangers last night.

The Sox are in Baltimore tonight.
