Casino Era Ahead--- Officials Say It Will Be Safe

City, state and federal officials say  public safety plans are in place for opening day at MGM Springfield.

There will be road and highway ramp closures.

Officials say they will have a presence inside the structure assisting the MGM security force.  And, they will also be patrolling outside including the highways.

MGM Springfield President Mike Mathis says that he sees the massive security effort as a partnership between all the men and women in blue.
