Springfield Catholic Bishop Mitchell Rozanski is sharing a letter with the community following the latest scandal involving priests.
Last week, a grand jury in Pennsylvania revealed a report that over three-hundred predator priests sexually abused over a thousand children in six dioceses in that state.
In the letter posted on the Diocese of Springfield, Rozanski said he is outraged and deeply saddened by the report, and that he remains firmly committed to rooting out, quote, "this evil in our midst".
He said he would work to insure all levels of the local Catholic Church were on the same page of the issue and those who were not would be let go.
