Heat Advisories Remain For Area

The calendar says it is September but the thermometer says it is still in the middle of summer.  Heat Advisories remain in effect for Tuesday, specifically from noon to 6pm over most of western Massachusetts and Connecticut.  The high for Tuesday is expected to be in the low 90's.  Wednesday the temps will be slightly below the 90 degree mark and that will mark an end to a potential heat wave.  On Friday we will see temps in the mid 70's.  For the record, September 22nd is the last official day of summer.

The intense heat was even more stressful for some people in Springfield where Eversource officials reported a problem with an underground cable that took most of the day to repair.  About 21 hundred customers of the utility were without power until about 6 Monday evening.
