The son of a Boston Police captain is headed to federal prison for 20 years for a plot to engage in terrorist activity.
Alexander Ciccolo of Adams was sentenced yesterday in Springfield for plotting an attack and recruiting others to participate.
Federal prosecutors say Ciccolo spent most of his life in Massachusetts, but decided to turn against his country and plot against Americans.
The 26-year-old Ciccolo will face supervised release for life once he is released from prison.
