A 24-year-old is facing an animal cruelty charge for allegedly burying a dog alive.
A woman, our for a walk, called police after finding the dog in Northbridge.
She says Richard Piquard had been trying to get rid of the dog for a while.
Piquard was arraigned, pleaded not guilty and released on bail.
The dog was taken to a vet but unfortunately didn't make it.
He is expected back in court next month.
