City Looks To End High Profile Lawsuits

The city of Springfield  is reaching multiple settlements totaling over a million dollars.

One  of the agreements is for 885-thousand dollars in connection with an  alleged police beating incident in 2015.

Another is for 175-thousand  dollars for the family of a boy who nearly drowned at a camp in Forest  Park last year.

Yet another settlement is for 75-thousand dollars for  the estate of Jerry Bradley, who died while in lockout in a Springfield police holding cell in 2015.

Although the Mayor's office says that the agreements have been reached, it is the City Council which must sign off on the agreements and that is expected next week.
