SJC To Hear Texting Suicide Appeal

A woman convicted in connection to a  suicide will go before the Supreme Judicial Court in Massachusetts this  week.

Michelle Carter was sentenced to 15 months for involuntary  manslaughter.

She is accused of sending texts to her suicidal boyfriend  telling him to get back into his truck that was filling with carbon  monoxide.

Carter's attorneys say this case would set the precedent for  someone who encouraged suicide with words alone.

No word on when the High Court would issue a ruling.
