University of Massachusetts Athletic Director Ryan Bamford met with the media on Tuesday to talk about the one-game suspension of football head coach Mark Whipple, who used the word "rape" while criticizing officiating in a game last week.
Bamford called the incident an isolated one and said it's not an indicator of how Whipple is.
The UMass coach will also have to participate in sensitivity training.
Bamford says that when Whipple returns after the weekend game he will assume his normal position running the team.
