President Trump's second nominee will now be a Supreme Court associate justice.
Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed on a 50 to 48 roll call vote of the U.S. Senate on Saturday, prompting reactions from several Massachusetts officials.
Boston Mayor Martin Walsh says Judge Kavanaugh's appointment "won't stop our fight for what is right for Dr. Blasey Ford", the woman who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey also issued statements in opposition of the confirmation, as did Congressman Seth Moulton.
