Lawmakers Look For Opioid Answers

A legislative delegation is heading  to Portugal to examine its decriminalization of opioids.

Senate  President Karen Spilka says the trip is a unique opportunity to  consider possible solutions for the opioid epidemic.

However, the  Boston Herald reports some elected officials, including Boston Mayor  Marty Walsh are voicing concerns about decriminalization.

People in  Portugal who are in possession of small amounts of opioids are not  arrested, a panel determines if they should be sent to rehab, counseling  or have their case suspended.
