Mayor Orders Police Increase Patrols

Hundreds of people gathered for a  vigil at Temple Beth El in Springfield on Sunday following a deadly  shooting at a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh the previous day.  

The  shooting left eleven people dead and six others injured.  

Springfield  Mayor Dom Sarno and Police Commissioner John Barbieri announced over the weekend that they are ordering a heightened police presence at  synagogues in the city and the Jewish Community Center.
