Two Indicted In Police Excessive Fore Incident

One current and one former Springfield Police officer have been indicted on charges that they used excessive force on two teens back in 2016.

According to the US Attorney Andrew Lelling, current police officer Gregg Bigda and former officer Steven Vigneault have been charged with one count each of depriving an individuals rights.

Bigda is accused of spitting on the teens and threatening to beat them.

Lelling says the teens were being questioned as part of an investigation in which the teens allegedly stole an undercover police officer’s car.

Meantime, Springfield City Council President Orlando Ramos has already called for Bigda to be fired immediately.
