The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission is authorizing independent testing labs to start testing products for the recreational marijuana industry.
The commission made that announcement on Wednesday for MCR Labs in Framingham and CDX Analytics in Salem.
The commission must issue "commence full operations" notices to two retail stores in Leicester and Northampton which won final licenses from the state, and that both are expected to open for recreational sales before the end of next week.
That would be subject to testing of their stock according to commission member Jen Flannagan.
