All of southern New England is under a Flash Flood Watch from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
A widespread soaking rainfall totaling one to two inches is forecast for tonight and overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists say the rainfall will bring the potential for significant urban and poor drainage flooding.
Officials say before the rains come - this would be a good time to remove leaves from drainage areas.
