5 Homeless In Springfield Fire

Five residents and several dogs reportedly got out of their home unharmed after a large fire broke out last night in Springfield.

City fire officials say the blaze at a house on Ridgewood Place started  on the second floor and extended to the attic, causing structural  damage.

The Red Cross is assisting the residents.

Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger says that no firefighters were hurt and they are still seeking a cause.
