Governor Seeks Change For Natural Gas

State lawmakers could consider a bill  this session that would require natural gas projects to be reviewed by a  certified professional engineer.

Governor  Baker says he  is  recommending the legislation based on the National Transportation Safety  Board's safety findings after the September gas explosions in the  Merrimack Valley.

The board believes a certified engineer could have  found oversights and prevented the emergency that affected Andover,  North Andover, and Lawrence on September 13th.

One person was killed  and dozens were injured.
