Longmeadow Police are confirming the death of a veteran police officer.
Officials say Mark Mendrala died unexpectedly at his home this week.
He was a 22 year veteran of the department.
In a statement, officials say that he had high morals and integrity and combined that with infectious humor.
The family says arrangements are still being worked on and will be announced at a later date.
