Lawmaker Wants Protections For Legal Users

Now that marijuana  is legal for Massachusetts adults, a lawmaker wants to protect workers  from being fired for smoking while off duty.

Senator Jason Lewis of  Winchester is crafting a bill that would protect workers from being  fired for using cannabis on their own time.

The bill still would allow  employers to sanction workers who show up to the job while high.

Lewis says he expects to introduce the bill sometime next month.
