Welcoming Ordinance Still Unchallenged

There has been very limited comment from the Springfield Mayor as to what happens next with the Welcoming Community Ordinance that was put on the books this week by the city council.

Under the ordinance city employees may not routinely ask about the immigration status of a person.

The mayor vetoed it but it was overriden.  '

Now left unanswered is whether the mayor will challenge the plan in court.

City Councilors say they don't know yet.
