Springfield Congressman Richard Neal says he's pleased that the federal government shutdown is at least temporarily over.
The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee calls the shutdown needless.
Neal says he'll work with his colleagues in a bipartisan manner to find a permanent agreement that includes a frank discussion about border security.
Meantime, talks are going on to try to avert a future government shutdown over a similar issue.
There has been no indication as to how those talks are going.
