The cash bail system is being ended in Berkshire County.
District Attorney Andrea Harrington says the system creates unequal tiers based on whether a defendant is rich or poor.
Harrington said she would end cash bail during her 2018 campaign.
She has instructed prosecutors in her office to only seek bail in rare instances where the person charged is a flight risk.
