Holyoke City Council members are approving the sale of a building to be transformed into a new behavioral health hospital.
The sale of the former Holyoke Geriatric Authority site, to be converted by Baystate Health, was approved this week.
The building on Lower Westfield Road has been empty for years.
Baystate is building the hospital in cooperation with U.S. Healthvest.
City Councilor David Bartley says he believes construction will be completed sometime by 2022.
