An autopsy and identification is being done on a body that has been pulled from the Connecticut River.
Longmeadow Police and other local departments were alerted to a body that was seen in the river near the South End Bridge Friday.
The discovery was made by a college student on spring break that was fishing.
Neither Springfield nor Longmeadow officials are saying very much more than that.
Neither department is speculating publicly on the identity of the body.
There has been widespread speculation however that the body could be that of Achim Bailey.
The Springfield man has been the subject of a wide ranging search after he went missing after leaving a Springfield bar.
Officials have not indicated when they may know when an i-d will be made.
