Putting Teeth Into Dirt Bike Laws In Springfield

The danger of dirt bikes was discussed by Springfield City Council members on Wednesday.

Councilors talked about developing a new ordinance that would specifically ban the vehicles from riding on public streets.

The city dealt with several fatal bike crashes in 2018, most recently last December.

No votes were taken last night.

Interim Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood says that she will work on a proposal to add teeth to current ordinances.
