A man suffered serious injuries when he was engulfed in flames in an accident at a home in West Springfield on Tuesday.
West Springfield Fire Chief William Flaherty says the victim was pouring an ignitable liquid on an outdoor fire pit, and it flashed back and caught his clothes on fire.
The man was reportedly taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and then airlifted to a burn unit in Boston.
The man's brother says his brother is in a medically-induced coma.
