Council Wants More Comment On Plastic Bag Ban

A meeting is being scheduled for Monday by the Springfield City Council to give the public another chance to weigh in on a proposed plastic bag ban.

A subcommittee will meet at the Rebecca M. Johnson School at 6 p.m.

The proposal specifically calls for a ban of single-use plastic checkout bags at stores.

The council was considering final passage of the ban last month but agreed to delay the vote to seek more public input.
