Trial Set To Begin In Crash That Killed State Trooper

A trial date is set for the man accused of driving under the influence and causing the crash that killed state Trooper Thomas Clardy.

David Njuguna is charged with manslaughter by motor vehicle and other offenses, and remains jailed on 250-thousand-dollars bond.

Prosecutors say Njuguna was under the influence of marijuana when he struck the trooper's stopped cruiser on the MassPike in Charlton, and he died at the scene.

His trial is set to begin in August with jury selection beginning on the first and opening arguments a couple of days later.
