Workers Headed Back To Stores At Stop And Shop

An agreement has been reached to end a strike by Stop & Shop workers.

More than 30-thousand workers at the supermarket chain in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island have been off the job since April 11th.

Now, the company and the workers unions have made a deal that increases pay for workers, give them continued healthcare coverage and pension benefits.

Local union chapters still have to vote to ratify the deal.

Employees have been asked to return to work today.
