Police Busy With Violent Weekend In Springfield

Springfield authorities are investigating several violent incidents that happened Saturday night into overnight Sunday.

An adult male was fatally stabbed on Boston Road. Another suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds on Main Street.

The SPD says a man was arrested for assault and battery and disorderly conduct after a stabbing victim was found when officers responded to Club Aquarius on State Street and broke up a fight.

And, a police officer reportedly fired a service pistol when a car was pulled over on I-291 and reversed towards the officer. A 24-year-old Holyoke man was arrested in connection.

Meantime, the owner of the Aquarius Night Club says the fight that has been attributed to his business did not happen at his facility. The Mayor has called for hearings.
