The owner of Club Aquarius in Springfield is responding to Mayor Domenic Sarno's call for the nightclub to be shut down.
Police responded to a disturbance and found a man with severe stab wounds near the club over the weekend, leading Sarno to say the club's management has shown it can't control the establishment and that he is moving towards the revoking of licenses.
Aquarius owner and manager Freddy Venegas told our media partner Western Mass News that his business is being unfairly criticized and that any action taken by the city will be fought.
Last month, a Springfield police officer was shot near the same club.
