Governor Won't Sign Connecticut Family Leave

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont says he cannot support the paid family leave bill passed by the state Senate yesterday.

The bill would pay for up to 12 weeks of leave for the birth of a child or for medical issues.

Lamont says he was surprised the Senate decided to run the bill creating what is essentially a 400-million-dollar startup insurance company without his support.

Lamont says he believes in the concept, but this is the wrong bill.
