Neal Defends CRRC In Dispute With New York Senator

Springfield Congressman Richard Neal is reacting to a call from New York Senator Chuck Schumer for Chinese rail car manufacturer CRRC to be investigated.

CRRC is making rail cars for transit systems in several major U.S. cities. Schumer is concerned the state-owned company could be a security threat.

A statement released from Neal says there is no question the Chinese have a long history of actions that have threatened American jobs, tech and national security, but that consideration needs to be given to "welcoming companies" that create jobs.

Neal notes CRRC has brought 158 jobs to Springfield.

The Senator hasn't responded to the Neal statement.
