Mayor Delays Pot Decision--Applicants OK With It

The city of Springfield is pushing back the date on which it plans to announce businesses that will be selected to operate marijuana stores.

Due to the volume of applications and following a recommendation from the city's marijuana review committee, the announcement from Mayor Domenic Sarno will now come on July 9th.

The original anticipated date was June 17th.

Payton Shubrick, one of the applicants for a license in Springfield says she doesn't have an issue with the delay. She says it is too important for the city.
