City Council Moves School Question To Voters

Holyoke voters will have a say on whether to build two new middle schools.

The city council voted on Tuesday night to put a question on the ballot in November requesting a Proposition Two-and-a-Half override to fund them.

It would cost nearly 132-million dollars overall, but Holyoke taxpayers would be on the hook for about 55-million after state reimbursement.

The city of Holyoke hasn't built a new school since about 1990.
