Education Bills Hitting Beacon Hill This Week

A lot of eyes on the Education Committee on Beacon Hill today.

State Representative Carlos Gonzales will testify in favor of his bill which would eliminate the use of the MCAS exam scores in determining who graduates from high school.

Another bill would impose a three year moratorium on the use of standardized testing scores in graduations or teacher ratings.

And a third bill would create additional funding for those learning English as a second language.

In all there are 17 different educational bills that lawmakers will hear testimony on.
